Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before booking a trip with Kea Journeys. By submitting a booking request or deposit, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Booking & Payments

Deposit: A deposit of 30% of the total trip cost is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation, accommodation, and private guides.
Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid in full 21 days prior to your scheduled arrival date. If booking within 21 days of departure, full payment is required immediately.
Currency: All prices are quoted and charged in New Zealand Dollars (NZD), inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST), unless stated otherwise.

2. Cancellations & Refunds All cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@keajourneys.com.

Note: No refunds are issued for unused itinerary portions, missed activities, or early departures due to personal choices.

3. Alterations by Kea Journeys Due to the nature of outdoor exploration, alpine environments, and unpredictable weather in New Zealand:

We reserve the right to alter routes, itineraries, accommodation, or activities if safety, severe weather, or road closures demand it.
If a key activity is canceled due to weather, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or provide a suitable alternative. Refund eligibility for third-party operator cancellations will depend on the operator's individual refund policy.

4. Travel Insurance (Mandatory) Comprehensive travel insurance is strictly required for all guests traveling with Kea Journeys. Your policy must cover:

Medical expenses and emergency evacuation/repatriation.
Trip cancellation, delay, and loss of luggage or personal belongings.
Specific outdoor activities included in your custom itinerary (e.g., helicopter transfers, alpine trekking, water sports).

5. Health, Fitness & Guest Responsibility

You must inform us prior to booking of any pre-existing medical conditions, mobility restrictions, severe allergies, or dietary requirements.
Kea Journeys reserves the right to decline participation in specific activities if a guest's physical condition poses a safety risk to themselves or others.

6. Liability & Limitation

Kea Journeys acts as an agent for boutique accommodations, third-party activity vendors, and transport providers. While we carefully select our partners, we are not liable for injury, loss, damage, delay, or expense resulting from acts or omissions of these independent operators.
To the maximum extent permitted under New Zealand law, Kea Journeys' liability for any claim arising out of your booking is limited to the total amount paid by you for the trip.

7. Governing Law These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts and Commerce Commission.
